i was mistaken for a teen mom this weekend.
do i really look that young? really?
i just think it's funny when random people come up to me...well, really they want to say hi to sadie. but they assume that i'm a teenager, and it isn't until i start speaking to them that they realize that i'm much older. i guess the bass in my voice gives it all away.
i have heard that giving birth, doing drugs, smoking, and drinking are aging factors. the giving birth part isn't an option, and the other three are out of the question.
what can i do to give myself an adult look? do i carry myself like a teenager?
come on people....i am really getting sick of this.

sadie finally took her first independent steps tonight while we were having dinner at our friends' house. they had their baby yesterday morning so we made dinner for them at their place. after dinner we were sitting around talking while sadie and their daughter kesiah were playing. out the blue, sadie stood up and started to walk. she took maybe four steps, and continued to make more attempts to walk the rest of the night. sadie was really cute and excited as we all cheered her on. i kept looking around for my camera so I could get pictures of her first steps but my camera was at home.....sucks! sadie made my day much brighter after she showed off her newly developed skill. she is such a sweetheart.

my friend audra and i threw an easter party last saturday, and it was a blast. there were maybe thirty kids who attended, food, cake, family, friends, and tons of candy. it made my day that my sister mia was able to visit us over the holiday weekend, making easter even more exciting for sadie. i was happy to see all the kids having a good time together. sadie had fun looking for eggs during the easter egg hunt. she loved hitting the pinata with a little plastic bat, so much that when it was time to let the other children have a turn she got a little upset. audra and i would like to throw an annual easter party so we look forward to next year.
