the best assistant ever....

my little world has been rocked! my assistant and friend maria's last day was today and it hit me like a ton of bricks when i found out...today. as much as i wanted to beg her to stay i couldn't since she is going to pursue her life long dream of becoming a hair stylist. she was informed yesterday night that she was accepted at a cosmetology school she applied to a year ago, and school starts next week, monday morning at 8:00 a.m. i took the news very hard and cried like a baby, and i am sure there will be more tears when she leaves for the day. maria is such a wonderful woman and I have grown to truly love and appreciate her. i'm going to miss her, and let's not forget how much the kids and sadie love her. maria is one of the few people that i 100% trust with sadie, she is basically sadie's second mom. we both cried as we discussed the details of her new adventure. I told her that i was proud of her, and that i was happy that she is pursuing her dream. but I can't help being a little selfish in wanting her to stay. it was an answer to my prayers when maria started working for me. we promised that we would keep in touch and she agreed to babysit sadie for hubby and I when we need a sitter. now i will have to make-up reasons to use a sitter on the weekends so sadie will have time with her maria.

we will miss you Maria. it was a pleasure and blessing to work with you. thank you for loving the children as much as you do.

class of "99"

Last weekend was my ten years class reunion, and I can't believe it has been ten years since I was in high school. I feel and look so young but I guess that's a good thing. I had the HOTTEST date in the room (my sister Maxine) and we had a blast! We had tons of fun catching up with our high school and childhood buddies, and reminiscing about the good old days. I was happy to see that all of our friends were doing well with their carriers and families. Since hubby had to work on Saturday, he stayed home but I made sure I had my camera so I could show off my beautiful family. I wasn't going to go to the reunion but I'm happy Maxine talked me into it.

Since we had a plane to catch Sunday morning we didn't have much time to spend with my mom and dad. But the little time we did have, was so refreshing. I loved watching Sadie melt in her aunts, uncle and papa's hands. They love her so much, and Sadie was happy to share her wet kisses and smiles with everyone. Sadie is such a happy baby...i love that about her.

Although Sadie and I had a fun and eventful weekend. Sadie was HAPPY to see her daddy when we returned home. So sweet!

almost final...

we received a letter from the maricopa county attorney today informing us that our petition to adopt has been filed, and we have a final adoption hearing on October 1, 2009, at 9:30 a.m. we have been waiting for this day and it's almost here.

last weekend grandma barb (hubbies grandmother) got married in the mt. timpanogos temple in utah. it was a beautiful wedding. i had a good time getting reacquainted with long distant in-laws, and it was the first time for a large group of the family to meet Sadie. it was special for us to introduce our daughter to the family for the first time.

here are some pictures we took in utah last weekend. sunday morning was beautiful so we had to take advantage of the weather. sadie and I woke up early and had breakfast outside in the backyard (so nice). hubby joined us a little later, and he remembered to bring the camera with him. good job honey!
