Back to the old ME

It's four o'clock in the morning, and I woke up twenty minutes ago wondering were hubby was.  I rolled over in bed looking for my cuddle buddy and he wasn't there!  I found him sleeping on the couch down stairs.  He feel asleep watching a movie.  It's a good think I got up because Lola, (our dog) was in the kitchen, sitting at the door that leads to our garage, crying.  She needed to nurse her puppies!  Her milk bags look like they were going to pop, and they were leaking milk.  I don't know how she does it because our puppies have little sharp teeth, and there are six of them sucking like they mean it.  I know breast feeding isn't the most comfortable thing in the world (if your wondering, I breast feed Sadie for a couple of months). It must be different for dogs!

Anyway, back to my topic!

I have been wanting to blog about this for the past three month but I decided not to just in case I didn't meet my goal.  Way to be accountable, right! Some of you might think I'm crazy but four months ago I was looking at myself, and I thought, "I kinda look like I could have given birth to a baby."  And since I didn't give birth to a child ever in my life. I felt like I could be a better me, and do something about my appearance. I was inspired by a blog friend who blogged about her fitness goals, and I thought setting fitness goals was a great idea but I wasn't bold enough to post it on my blog for reasons already expressed. All of my friends would tell me I look great when I talk to them about losing weight. Which is kinda funny because when they see me now, they tell me how good I like, and want to know what I have been doing.  I guess everyone has room for small improvements!
I decided that I would get up in the morning at six o'clock and go for a walk/run on my tread-meal, cut out ALL fast food, stop eating bread, pop, NO sweets (cookies, cake, donuts, chips, all that stuff that stick to your body), and be consistent.  I also ran bleacher and laps around a HS track near my house on the weekend. Before I started working on myself my weight was 130,(yes, I put it out here!) and I know some of you might not think that isn't so bad, and I'm not saying it is. But taking other things into consideration, like my height, body type, problem areas, etc.  I know what 130 pounds looks like on my body!  I still have some work to do, and consistency is still my goal...hopefully a life long goal.  I'm not going to say how much weight I lost but I will say that I went down some jean sizes.
I'm going to be 29 years young this year and it's time for a change!  I want Sadie to grow up being active, health, and fit. And hopefully hubby and I will be good examples for Sadie to follow.

Superwoman

So, it is 10:19 p.m. and I completed all but two things on my list.  I did not have time to go to the temple this weekend, and I did not update Sadie's journal but I still feel like Superwoman.  I got a lot done this weekend, and I feel really good about myself.  I will update Sadie's journal throughout the week, and I will make time to go to the temple after AJ comes home from work sometime this week.

There is a picture of the onesie and bow I made.  The onesie was just a plain blue onesie I got from Target until I hooked it up.  What do you think?  There are more cute things to come so stay tuned!

Mother's Day

Sunday, May 10, 2009 was a very special day for me and the husband. It was the first Mother's Day that I was able to be excited, celebrate, feel honored, and appreciate that I am a mother to a beautiful little girl. It was AJ's first time to witness my excitement on our special day, which I know is something that AJ and I have hoped and dreamed of. For the chance to see each other be the best parents that we can be. Our sweet baby was sent to us from our Father in Heaven, and what a delight it has been to have Sadie in our life.
To help mark our special day, AJ really out did himself! First, I have to say that AJ is so DOPE, and the best father and husband I know.
So, I woke up early as always, and the first thing AJ said to me was "Happy Mother's Day" with a big I-just-woke-up smile on his face. And I responded, "I know I'm a mother now", as I rolled around in our bed squeezing out my morning stretch with a big I-just-woke-up smile on my face. I got out of bed to get ready for my day. As I was getting in the shower, AJ asked "what are you doing? No, no, no, we need to go down stairs." So, he walked me down the stairs, and to my surprise there was my very own work station (that's what I call it!) AJ got me a two sided table, (one side is for sewing and the other for crafting) two lamps one of which has a magnifying glass lamp for when I'm detailing stuff, and two containers for my thread, rhinestones, etc. I was so surprised and excited! I felt like I was a kid on Christmas morning. AJ's gift was so thoughtful because I have been keeping myself busy being creative, and AJ's support really means a lot. I also got an arrangement of beautiful yellow flowers.
AJ made a delicious omelet breakfast for the two of us, and after that I got to work on some stuff for "Sadie's Closet". Later that day we went to visit family for a Mother's Day dinner. It was an eventful day, but most important I got to spend another day with my two favorite people.

Sadie and Maddie

While visiting with family yesterday Maddie (Sadie's big cousin) offered to help feed Sadie. Here is a picture of the two of them I took with my phone. The quality isn't the best, but the picture is so cute! Maddie is a good helper. She played with Sadie throughout the day, and made Sadie laugh. Sadie has grown so much in the past three months. We love this stage in her life. Sadie is reaching for toys, drooling tons, talking all day, BIG smiles, and the newest development.....LAUGHING, which we love to hear.

Funny Quote of the Day

This is what my husband said to me today while I was getting ready for church. "I'm going to be dark like you and Sadie if I keep going out in the sun. Do you see how red I am today?" I looked at him through our bathroom mirror, and laugh until my stomach started to hurt. AJ is so funny! That was a little kid moment.

Me and my two favorite people need a vacation, and this looks really NICE!
