camelback.....

i am looking for someone to hike camelback mountain with me on saturday mornings. i need someone who is reliable, and someone who isn't going to back out on me at the last minute. it will cool off in september so i think that will be a good time to start. unless you want to get up at 5 a.m. to beat the heat starting in august. if you are interested, let me know. i know some of you can't leave messages on my blog so e-mail me.

footsteps.....

i turned in my last ten page research paper lastnight. I am so happy this summer semester is over. i have completed all my required english classes so i am free from writing essays. i'm sure there will be more research papers i will have to write in the future but that hopefully wont be until i transfer to a.s.u. so, for now i am essay free!

our baby is a genius...

we received sadie's "my baby can read" program today. hubby and i watched the parent guide dvd tonight, and we are excited to get started. the program requires an hour of interactive learning per day. it will be interesting to see sadie's progression in the next ten months.

we got sadie's picture today, finally! i made two of the outfits she is wearing. sadie is so cute! mom, dad, jackie, mia, and, maxine, we are going to have the pictures developed, and mailed out to you by next week. enjoy

at just five months old......sadie has her first tooth. our little girl is growing so fast! it's breaking my heart.

dirty 30 party

my friend tina had a dirty 30 birthday party saturday night and it was a blast. I had so much fun! a large group of us girls met at a friend of a friend's house for games, cake, food , music, and pictures. We hung-out for an hour and a half before it was time for us to go to the "pussycats dance studio" in scottsdale at 9:30 p.m. for our birthday party pole dancing class. the class was two hours long, and it was the best! our teacher tought us two routines. one was a sexy dance routine that we could share with our hubbies, and the other was a pole routine. all the girls got to show off their mad dancing skills, and i'm pretty sure none of us will be seeking a career as dancers but it was good practice. we had tons of fun and lots of laughs. thank you tina, for having a birthday!

we sold another puppy on saturday. we know essie will be happy at her new home. now there's just two more to go...

there are a couple of people looking at the male we have left right now. with any luck he'll be gone next week.

family night....

we had dinner at pita jungle monday night. hubby had a chicken salad and i ordered a chicken pita...yummy! sadie made a couple of new friends at the restaurant, but there was one in particular that we liked the most. this is katie and she is a fashionista! katie is the hostess who showed us to our seat when we arrived at the restaurant. while katie was talking to sadie i was admiring her beautiful red dress. she was nice enough to pose for these "pictures of the day" with sadie. her vintage style dress is an oldy but goody which she got from a friend's trunk. thank you, katie for these picture perfect moments with our daughter. you rock!

4th july

yesterday was the 4th and we had a good time. we were invited to a bbq at my sis-in-law's house. there were lots of family, tons of food, and fun in the sun. our friend diana and her daughter grace came along. diana's hubby had to work so he could not come. diana make a delicious jello cake. it was soooooooooo good! i think i ate 3 or 4 pieces. i know, "bad marian". i will work it off this week. i didn't get a lot of pictures this year but here are some.

today was a special day for me. i made the decision yesterday that i was going to go to the temple friday morning. i was determined not to let anything get in my way. so, i woke up at 5:30 a.m, cleaned up, dressed, kissed hubby and the baby "good bye", and i was on my way. the temple session I went to was special because i was going on behalf of my grandmother, Opal Marian Verline Edward-Ragsdale. yes, i am named after a great woman! my grandmother played a huge role in my childhood, and adult life. she was a very nurturing woman. i am grateful she was apart of my life. i hope my children and grandchildren will love me as much as her children love her.
i had a beautiful experience at the temple today. the temple is truly a holy place, a refuge, The House of the Lord. some of my most meaningful experiences in the temple have always been when i'm doing work for my own family. i am grateful that we live close to the temple, and I realize that I need to take advantage of this blessing.
it's time for me to set some new goals. i think i will call them my "saturday morning must do list". i will let you know how it works out. stay tuned!

spa day.

hubby redeemed his father's day gift today. we had a yummy lunch together, and while aj was getting his rub down. sadie and i went to the pool. sadie was a "show stopper" as always. half the people in the pool came over to say "hi" and talk to us. it was a little hot so after talking to our new friends we ordered some cold drinks (cold water for say say, and a lemonade for me), then enjoyed the shade. i had a good time doing my girly girl thing with my baby. it would have been 100% if my sisters were there, someday!
